Croatia is an amazing country, where the Alps, the Mediterranean and Pannonian merge. And it is truly wonderful, because hardly there is a place in the world that combines excellent sea coast, dotted with islands, a unique natural sites and castles, which have passed through the centuries, preserving its historical value. Istria resorts, ancient Pula , medieval Zagreb, Plitvice Lakes, Brijuni Islands, a well-known resort of Dubrovnik - this is only a small part of what a rich Croatian land hides.

Resorts of Croatia

Croatia is a country of a beach holiday, so there are a great many tourist resorts. Geographically, they are united in three main areas:

1. Istria and Kvarner coast (Rabac, Opatija, Lovran, the island of Brijuni, Umag, Porec, Rovinj, Medulin). This region can be called Croatian Tuscany because of the hilly landscape and medieval towns on hilltops. It should be noted that almost all the beaches on the island are artificial concrete platforms, as well as small lagoons with pebbles.

2. Central Dalmatia is a Croatian Adriatic Coast (Vodice, Sibenik, Tucepi, Podgora, island of Brac and Hvar Primosten, Split, Brela, Makarska). This coast is rightly considered to be the best beach area of the country. It consists of cozy coves and bays with sandy beaches, pine forests and medieval architecture.

3. South Dalmatia (Dubrovnik, Slano, Cavtat, island Kolocep, Korcula and Mljet, Mlini, Plat). This part of Croatia is a border with Montenegro and has a delightful views of nature from the Mediterranean climate. The center of this area is a fantastic Dubrovnik, around which there are more than 100 pristine islands. Tourists will be able to spend a quiet and comfortable holiday at a high level of service here.

5 must-go places in Croatia

Many tourists came to Croatia on vacation and don’t even leave the beaches. This is understandable, because the resort areas in this sunny country are clean, comfortable and very beautiful. But those who want to get more acquainted with the nature and cultural heritage of the country, be sure to list the things that simply must be done while you are in Croatia:
