Kobleve: a little history

Kobleve was founded in 1850 and was formerly called Troitske and Postove. It is named after Thomas Kobley, a major general who served as military commandant and governor of Odesa and marshal of the nobility of Kherson Governorate. In 1886 the small town of Troitske in Odesa county had 95 households and 586 residents, an Orthodox church and two shops.

Kobleve today

The village lies by the Tylihul Estuary on the border of Mykolaiv and Odesa oblasts, on the M14 highway, 55 km from Odesa. Four kilometres south of the road is Kobleve resort, the largest on the Mykolaiv Black Sea coast, able to host over 25,000 holidaymakers, with a beach, a dolphinarium and an aquapark. Vineyards of the Koblevo winery, known for its wines and brandy, surround the village. A local curiosity is the concrete elephant found on the beach in 2009 — first thought antique, it turned out to be a decoration from a Soviet children's camp. We deliver flowers both to the village and to the resort's holiday bases.

March 8 and February 14 are the busiest days for flowers, so it is best to order early. Mother's Day in Ukraine is the second Sunday in May.
