Skryhalivka: a little history

Three stories explain the name Skryhalivka: it may honour the first settler Skryhalov, come from skryha, an old word for a beehive, or recall a Cossack named Skryhal. A memorial to the Cossacks of Semen Palii's regiment marks the village's Cossack past. Today Skryhalivka, home to just over three hundred people, belongs to the Kozhanka community of Fastiv district.
